Is Minecraft down?

A live check of the services the game depends on: login, sessions, skins, profiles and Realms. Measured from our server, not from a status page.

How it works

  • Our server asks each Mojang and Microsoft service one question and reads the answer.
  • Green answered as it does when it works. Amber answered slowly or with an error. Red did not answer.
  • The check repeats every minute while the page is open.
  • One server, not the whole game? The server status checker pings any Java server by address.

This measures from our server. A service can be up here and unreachable from your network, or the other way round.

Questions

Is Minecraft down right now?
The table above is the answer, checked live from our server within the last minute. Green means the service answered the way it does when it works. If every row is green and you still cannot play, the problem is closer to you: your connection, your launcher, or the one server you are trying to join.
Are Realms down?
The two Realms rows are the Realms APIs for Java and for Bedrock. When one is red or amber, Realms on that edition is having trouble for everyone, and waiting is the only fix. When both are green and your Realm still fails, restart the game, and check whether the Realm's owner has it closed or on a newer version.
I cannot log in. Which row matters?
Microsoft login and Xbox Live authentication. Every account signs in through both, on Java and on Bedrock. The Minecraft Services API row is the step after that for Java.
Everyone on my server is Steve. Which row matters?
The session server and the skin CDN. The session server tells a server who you are and which skin you wear; the CDN serves the picture. When either is down, servers show default skins until it returns.
Where is the official status page?
Mojang retired its status endpoint in 2021 and has no public status page. Outages are announced on the Minecraft account on X and, for the Xbox side, on the Xbox status page. This page checks the services directly instead.
How is this measured?
Our server sends one request to each service and reads the HTTP answer. What counts as working is per service: a profile lookup must return the profile; the Realms API must ask for a login (a 401), which is what it does when it is up. Slow answers and 5xx errors show as amber.
