Open a skin PNG, pick the change you need, and download the result. Upgrade or downgrade the file size, switch Classic and Slim arms, or turn a backwards skin around. Everything runs in your browser.
or drop the file anywhere on this box. 64×64, 64×32, 128×128 or 256×256.
How it works
- Open the PNG. The page reads its size and guesses the model.
- Check the model. If the arms look wrong on the 3D character, switch Classic and Slim.
- Press a step. The After character updates at once.
- Press more steps if you need them. Undo takes one back.
- Download the PNG, or open it in the skin editor to keep painting.
Only need to turn a skin around? Use the one-step flip skin page.
Questions
- Which sizes does each edition accept?
- Java Edition accepts 64×64 and the older 64×32. Bedrock Edition accepts 64×64, 64×32 and 128×128. If Java refuses your file, reduce it to 64×64 here and try again.
- Can I use a Bedrock skin on Java?
- A plain 64×64 skin PNG works on both editions with no change. A 128×128 skin has to be reduced to 64×64 first, and it loses fine detail. An outfit from the Bedrock Character Creator has no PNG file, so there is nothing to convert. A skin pack that ships its own model shape will not look the same on the standard model.
- What happens when I upgrade a 64×32 skin?
- The old format holds one arm and one leg, and the game mirrors them onto the other side. The upgrade copies the right arm and leg into the left slots, which is what the game does with an old skin. Every part also gains an outer layer, which starts empty.
- What is the difference between Classic and Slim?
- Classic arms are 4 pixels wide. Slim arms are 3 pixels wide. The file is the same size for both; the game reads the arm columns differently, and the launcher stores which model you use. Pick the model you play with, then convert if the arms look wrong.
- Which column does the Classic to Slim step remove?
- The column on the side that touches the body. The outer edge of an arm carries the shading you see from most angles, so removing the inner column changes the least. Slim to Classic doubles that same inner column.
- My skin came out backwards. Which button fixes it?
- Flip front and back. It turns the character around, so what you painted on the back rectangle shows on the front, and words still read the right way. Swap left and right is a mirror instead, for a skin drawn on the wrong arm or leg.
- Does my skin leave my computer?
- No. Every step runs in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, and the download comes straight from the page.
