A shulker box and a single chest hold 27 slots. A double chest holds 54. A part-filled stack still takes a whole slot, which is why the counts round up.

Questions
- Does everything stack to 64?
- No, and that is the whole reason to pick the item. Eggs, snowballs, ender pearls, signs and buckets of snow stack to 16. Every tool, weapon, boat, minecart and piece of armor stacks to 1.
- How many items fit in a shulker box?
- Twenty-seven slots, so 1,728 of something that stacks to 64. A single chest is the same 27 slots and a double chest is 54.
- Can I put a shulker box inside a shulker box?
- No. The game refuses it, which is why this page says so when you pick one. Chests take them happily.
- Why does a part-full stack still count as a slot?
- Because it does in the game. Sixty-five cobblestone takes two slots even though the second one holds a single block, so the box and chest counts here round up.
- How much is a double chest of blocks?
- 3,456 of anything that stacks to 64, in 54 slots. The table above works it out for whatever you picked.
- Is Bedrock the same?
- Yes for stack sizes and container slots. Bedrock's inventory layout differs slightly, but the arithmetic here holds.
